Grateful—though mindful of her carbon footprint—Gwen cherishes the opportunity to have worked, studied, and traveled across 70+ countries and all seven continents. Originally from Zionsville, Indiana, she pursued her passion for learning at the University of Virginia, earning degrees in Economics and Education. Committed to global impact, she is currently furthering her expertise as a graduate student at Harvard Extension School, working toward a Masters in Global Development Practice.
When she’s not teaching or managing her many entrepreneurial ventures through Managing Love, Gwen is always seeking new educational adventures—whether through global exploration or hands-on volunteer work, both locally and internationally.Through Managing Love’s small but powerful production company, VisionForward.Media, Gwen and her team premiered their first documentary short at the United Nations during the first intergovernmental dialogue on global homelessness. With humility, she has shared her own lived experience as a speaker multiple times.
Building on that momentum, the VisionForward.Media team recently completed the first full-length documentary in their social justice film series. The award-winning "If It Could Happen to Me, It Could Happen to You” premiered at Harvard and is set to screen in all 11 cities where it was filmed. The film has received nine awards and continues to resonate deeply with audiences.
Managing Love's next documentary, “Traffikid”, builds upon this legacy. Already an award-winning short, Traffikid is now in production as a full-length feature expository documentary, exposing the realities of human trafficking, with a particular focus on child trafficking. From survivors to political leaders, agency directors to mental health experts, the team is actively filming along the East Coast of the United States.
Filmed using Netflix-approved cameras, Traffikid is being produced at the highest industry standards, with aspirations of securing a Netflix distribution deal. Expanding the project into a docuseries would enable Managing Love to raise global awareness about the world’s fastest-growing criminal enterprise.
Expanding into a broader artistic and advocacy movement, Managing Love has also launched The Trafficking Tales, a storytelling initiative designed to empower survivors of human trafficking through soulful, impactful narratives. This project will culminate in a book featuring:
A compilation of short stories sharing survivor experiences,
A resource manual to support victims, service providers, and advocates,
A domestic policy manual aimed at driving legislative change at both state and federal levels.
Beyond filmmaking, Managing Love is taking bold action to enact real-world change through policy reform. Working at the state level, the team is laying the groundwork for federal action. In partnership with remarkable advocacy teams, they successfully passed three anti-trafficking bills in the most recent legislative session—with more on the horizon.
Managing Love’s small production company, VisionForward.Media, had their first documentary short premiere at the United Nations at the first intergovernmental dialogue on global homelessness where humbly she presented a couple of times about her own lived experience. Managing Love’s production team completed their first documentary in their social justice documentary film series. Humbly, the award-winning “If It Could Happen to Me, It Could Happen to You” screened at Harvard and will continue screening in the 11 cities where we filmed.
Our next social justice documentary, ‘Traffikid’, has several additional artistic endeavors from ‘The Trafficking Tales’, supporting survivors of human trafficking through soulful storytelling. The Managing Love team is working towards combatting human trafficking with novel policies first at the state level before going federal. Working with some remarkable teams, we helped pass 3 anti-trafficking bills this past legislative session.
